Full net metering (saldering) remains in place until January 2027, allowing residential solar owners to offset consumed grid electricity with exported solar at the retail rate. To be abolished entirely in 2027.
Netherlands charges 0% VAT (normally 21%) on residential solar panel purchases and installation. Introduced in 2023 to make solar more affordable for homeowners.
